Icona Health, Inc.
Software for one of the messiest parts of healthcare admin: prior authorization.
Prior authorization is still run through a mix of portals, fax, PDFs, chart notes, and payer-specific rules. Icona Health is building a provider-side operating system for medication and procedure prior authorization execution, from intake to submission, tracking, denial handling, and appeals.
We are building for the people doing the work, not for a demo.
Built for provider-side execution
- One workflow layer for both medication and procedure prior auth
- Document-first and EHR-first intake
- Payer-specific validation before submission
- Denial-to-appeal workflows with stronger auditability
Prior authorization is still operationally broken for providers.
Teams are still expected to execute critical workflows across disconnected systems, fragmented handoffs, and unclear rules.
Why now
The provider-side burden is still severe: teams are understaffed, case requirements shift by payer, and too much work is still manual. Patients and staff absorb that delay.
At the same time, the market is moving toward more structured prior auth workflows. We are building for both realities: practical execution now and deeper interoperability over time.
Transparent product view
The product is not one form page. It is a workflow system: queue, case workspace, form editing, document review, submission evidence, denial and appeal handling, and audit-ready operations reporting.
If a team cannot see exactly what is missing, what was submitted, and what happens next, the system is not finished. That standard drives how we design.
The simplest visual model
If you reduce the platform to screens, this is the product:
What we're building
One operating layer for prior authorization execution across medication and procedure workflows.
Founder-led and operationally grounded
We are building Icona Health because we know this workflow firsthand. We work in healthcare, have done prior authorizations ourselves, and have used existing tools. Our view is simple: provider-side operational execution is still not solved well enough.

Join us
We are early and building software for a hard healthcare workflow problem. We care about quality, ownership, and product judgment. This is not demo work.
We are looking for builders who can think clearly, ship with care, and stay grounded in real operational constraints.
